Manometry & Ultrasound

Your doctor may have requested anal Manometry and Ultrasound to further investigate problems of incontinence, defecation,  fissures, or cancer.

Manometry tests the strength of you muscle.

Ultrasound examines the muscle, to determine if it has been injured by vaginal delivery or surgery,  to define fistula tracts, find abscess cavities,  to stage or follow up on an anal or rectal cancer.

These are tests that are performed in our  Liverpool rooms. It takes around 40 minutes, and our nurse will talk you through them. No preparation is required, and you do not need to be fasted.

These investigations can also be organised through the SKC Wong Centre for Anorectal Diagnostics and Treatment at Bankstown Hospital. More information here
